The Melbourne Stars are looking to bounce back from their remarkable final ball loss to the Sydney Thunder to open the BBL12 campaign.
The team returns home to play at the MCG without batsman Joe Burns, who injured his hamstring early in Tuesday night’s clash.
Despite trying to bat on, Burns was ultimately removed from the match that his side lost by just one wicket on the final ball of the night.

Youngster Campbell Kellaway will make his debut as Burns’ replacement, after finding form early this summer.
Teammate Marcus Stoinis is “deadset keen” to “put on a great show”, according to coach David Hussey, after his first ball duck on Tuesday night.

The Stars’ all-rounder has been forced to isolate away from teammates after contracting Covid, but he was able to play through.
But he couldn’t get into the game on Tuesday night – something Hussey is adamant his star will rectify on Friday night.
Hobart meantime head into their first match of the series full on confidence on the back of Ricky Ponting’s influence at the club.
Ponting is the Hurricanes’ head of strategy this season and he’s looking to use D’Arcy Short and Tim David for longer periods with the bat.
