Raiders coach Ricky Stuart has revealed recruit Danny Levi could be the man to wear the No.9 jersey in Canberra’s first regular season clash.
The 26-year-old Samoan international spent a season in the Super League with Huddersfield after a nine-game stint with the Broncos in 2021.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Levi was signed as cover for the outgoing Josh Hodgson, but the former Newcastle gun comes at a fraction of the cost.

Hodgson was reportedly earning around $800,000 per season, while Levi’s two-year deal is reportedly worth only $150,000 per year.
While Canberra already have Tom Starling and Zac Woolford vying for the dummy-half spot, Stuart said Levi is “100 per cent” a chance of starting this season.
“He has really hit the ground running” Stuart said.
“He is fit and healthy and he has bought right into the place.

“Danny is going to get an opportunity in our first trial.”
Canberra face the Bulldogs in their first pre-season clash at Ack Weyman Oval in Moruya on February 12.
The Broncos were also reportedly interesting in re-signing Levi, but instead decided to allow Billy Walters, Cory Paix and young gun Blake Mozer to fight for their positions.
Levi has also in the past represented New Zealand most recently played for Samoa at the 2022 Rugby League World Cup, before returning home early due to personal reasons.
