Warwick Farm horseman Greg Hickman has high hopes his emerging stayer Jonny Be Swift can bounce back to winning form at Goulburn on Tuesday.
Hickman has the four-year-old son of So You Think lining up in the Goulburn Carpet Court Benchmark 58 Handicap (2145m) with two-kilogram claiming apprentice Glenn Cahill taking the ride.

Jonny Be Swift has only had 11 starts and has recorded two victories and as many placings. He won a maiden at Queanbeyan in December 2023, then scored at Taree in January of last year over 2000m.
“He’s a horse that has shown his share of potential,” Hickman said. “It’s been a while since he’s won a race, but he hasn’t been far away in a lot of his runs and now that he’s had the two runs back from a spell, he looks to be ready to peak this campaign.”
Jonny Be Swift finished last when resuming from a spell at Newcastle on February 1. He followed that with sixth at Canberra when beaten just over 2.5 lengths.
“It was a good run at Canberra,” Hickman said. “He ran home well enough, and now he’s getting up in trip I think we will see the best of him.”
Brendan Ward was in the saddle at Canberra, but Hickman has opted to go with Cahill and his apprentice allowance at Goulburn.
“He has a big weight with 62.5 kilograms, so the two kilos off with Glenn should be to his advantage,” Hickman said. “I think he should be in the finish if he gets any luck at all.”
Cahill has five rides at Goulburn, including Friskee Frog and Spirits Burn Deep for trainer Neil Osborne in the Goulburn Hay Supplies Country Boosted Class 1 Handicap (1200m) and the Douglass Blinds & Security Screens Benchmark 66 Handicap (1300m) respectively.
He will also partner the Mary Bray-trained Flying Chevrolet in the Goulburn Roofing Country Boosted Maiden Handicap (1200m) and the Brad Widdup-trained debut winner Sneaky Choice in the GG Engineering Benchmark 58 Handicap (1000m).
