Jim Kambosos believes his son George’s decision to reduce the amount of smack talk has “rattled” the Haney camp and claimed Bill Haney is “a real distraction” to his son Devin.
Haney (28-0, 15KO) takes on Kambosos Jr. (21-1, 10KO) at Rod Laver Arena in a rematch for the WBA, WBO, WBC and IBF world titles to decide who is the undisputed king of the lightweight division.

It’s certainly been a quieter build-up to the bitter rivals’ second encounter, with ‘Ferocious’ opting to let his fists do all the talking.
And it is an approach that has team Haney hot under the collar, according to Jim.
“It looks like we’ve got under their skin,” Kambosos told FightHype.com.

There’s also been plenty of back-and-forth between the dad’s of the fighters, with Bill having plenty to say to Jim when their sons faced off at the press conference.
Jim, much like his son, didn’t engage and smiled cheekily back at Bill.
With the amount of chatter coming from Bill, Jim can’t help but feel it’s an unwanted element for Devin to deal with.

“I think Devin Haney’s dad is a real distraction, to be honest,” Kambosos said.
“When Devin’s dad couldn’t get in on the last fight and got in on the late Saturday night, I think Devin’s preparation was a lot more relaxed with his team.
“Now he’s got his dad here for the two-and-a-half weeks, to be honest, looking at the reaction from Bill Haney and looking at Devin wearing the shades, trying to conceal the eyes, I think Mr Bill Haney is a real distraction to his son, Devin.”
