‘Give the belt to Ankalaev’: UFC champ’s shock admission after ‘unbelievable’ scoring farce

Former light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz has sensationally said “give the belt” to his opponent after his fight with Magomed Ankalaev was judged as a split draw (48-47, 46-48, 47-47)

Fighting for the light heavyweight championship, Blachowicz and Ankalaev went the full five rounds in an entertaining bout.

But even Blachowicz admitted “I don’t feel that I am the winner” speaking with Joe Rogan post-fight.

A visibly upset Ankalaev then took to the microphone stating: “I don’t know what to say, I won that fight, why didn’t I get my belt?” via an interpreter.

His Polish opponent then approached, leaned in and dropped the bombshell: “give the belt to Ankalaev”.

Ankalaev, who is the most recent title contender from the Russian republic of Dagestan, was clearly in shock he wasn’t crowned the light heavyweight champion — and even threatened to walk out on the UFC.

“I can’t choose the judges, but I won this fight, I won this belt,” Ankalaev said.

“It does not matter if I felt pain, I did everything to get this victory, I always do whatever I have to do to adjust.
