Jockey Heavelon Van Der Hoven will be out to capitalise on his association with the Annabel Neasham and Rob Archibald stable at Bathurst on Tuesday when he links with the co-trainers with bookings for two mounts.

Van Der Hoven, who scored a long-priced win at Kembla Grange on Saturday aboard Full Metal Jacket for trainer Gary Portelli, will start the day at Bathurst on first starter Anaisa in the Kings Hotel Maiden Plate (1100m).

“She’s had two trials and while I haven’t been on her in those, she has looked to show enough potential to be hard to beat at Bathurst at her first start,” Van Der Hoven said of the three-year-old filly by Dubious.

“She’s drawn a good barrier and should run very well.”

Van Der Hoven’s second ride of the day will be Trapeze Legend when it contests the Bathurst RSL Club Class 1 Handicap (1200m).

“He’s a nice horse on what he’s shown in his races,” Van Der Hoven said. “His first start at Scone was good when he ran second and then he did it well to win at Scone at his second start. He looks talented.”

Co-trainers Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou will have runners in three races at Bathurst with all looming as leading chances.

Queen Calanthe is set to oppose Anaisa, while Zoomorphic is in the Breast Cancer Awareness Month Maiden Plate (1400m). Contrived is the other Ryan and Alexiou runner with the Flying Artie gelding running against Trapeze Legend.

Jean Van Overmeire will partner both Queen Calanthe and Zoomorphic, with both gallopers having shown ability in their lightly raced careers despite not winning.

Contrived, to be ridden by Jaden Lloyd, was a Wyong maiden winner in July and has been just behind the placings in three recent provincial starts leading into the Bathurst event.

Meanwhile, local trainer Gayne Williams has a strong team of four gallopers running at Bathurst, starting with A Merry Monarch in the Pink October At BTR Class 1 & Maiden Plate (1800m).

She finishes the day in the final three races respectively with Mosca Luna, Light Infantry and Ishamashi.
