Drivers all have unique ways of celebrating a podium finish. Some play it cool and go for a simple fist pump in the air while others opt for crowd-surfing in their team’s ecstatic arms.

The typically chill Piastri stood atop of the podium and the Miami sunshine has finally decided to make an appearance.

But the Australian said he still has plenty to learn in a post-race interview.
“I won the race that I really wanted to — yesterday was tricky,” he said. “Qualifying was one of my trickiest sessions of the year so to come away with the win is an amazing result.”
“The hard stint I was struggling a little bit, so there are some things to work on,” he added.
“Got to keep learning, but very happy to be leaving Miami on top.”

‘Crash or don’t pass’: Norris comments on Verstappen incident

F1 commentator Martin Brundle may have said it best. McLaren are in another postcode.
Both Norris and Piastri were flying down the circuit today and not even the valiant efforts of Max Verstappen could stop them.
In a post-race interview, Lando Norris commended his teammate for his drive and also offered commentary on the earlier incident with Verstappen.
In case you missed it, Norris felt as if he had been pushed off by Verstappen at a turn 2 incident.
“What can I say, if I don’t go for it then people complain, if I do go for it, people complain,” Norris said. “It’s the way it is with Max. It’s crash or don’t pass. Unless you get it really right and put him in the perfect position then you can just about get there.
“I paid the price for not doing a good enough job today, but still happy to be second.”

What arace and what a drive from Oscar Piastri!
The young Australian has claimed his fourth win of the season and his third consecutive trophy.
It’s a McLaren one-two finish, with Lando Norris falling behind his teammate today and in the championship standings.

Ferrari swap positions… again

Ferrari’s communication strategies appear to be a little messy.
After holding Hamilton behind Leclerc for multiple laps, they finally asked the duo to swap so they could try and catch Antonelli.
They’ve now asked them to swap again and the two drivers have complied. But frustrations seem to be brewing.
“We’ll discuss after the race,” Leclerc said over the team radio.
Ten laps to go and McLaren drivers are ‘free to race’

Hang tight folks, we’ve got 10 laps left.
It’s looking like a McLaren one-two finish, however it’s not clear which driver will snatch the trophy.
Piastri is now just five seconds ahead of Norris. Scratch that, now it’s four.
Zak Brown confirmed the pair are ‘free to race’.
‘Have a tea break’ : Ferrari duo swap positions

Lewis Hamilton’s frustrations with his Ferrari team have grown, after the team initially refused to swap positions with his teammate.
On Lap 39, the team reversed their decision and told the pair to swap.

The McLaren’s pace is extraordinary and Piastri storms ahead with the lead in Lap 34, with Norris closely behind.

However, the back of the grid is getting some pretty exciting action too. Alex Albon (fifth place) and Carlos Sainz (ninth place) are both showing great pace in their Williams.
Leclerc is still ahead of Hamilton, however the seven-time world champion is on faster tyres.
“I’m burning up my tyres behind him,” Hamilton said over the radio, asking to swap positions with Leclerc.
“This is not good teamwork, that’s all I’m going to say,” he later added.
Rookie Ollie Bearman out and virtual safety car triggered

The rookie bad luck is continuing with Ollie Bearman out of the race after suffering a mechanical failure.
The McLaren cars have both been called in for a double-stack pitstop. It is a 2.2s stop for Piastri who is able to maintain his lead.
