Australia’s world-beating women’s 4x200m freestyle relay team have obliterated the field and taken home the gold medal in the marquee event of the night in the pool.
The team of Mollie O’Callaghan, Lani Pallister, Brianna Throssell and Ariarne Titmus count the 200m freestyle gold and silver medallists in their ranks and brought it home for the Dolphins’ fifth gold medal in Paris.
Australia hasn’t won this race since Beijing 2008 and the motivation was certainly there. The team had a shock third place finish in Tokyo after some dubious selections for the final.
