Fans scatter as giant tree falls at The Masters

Fans watching one of world golf’s most famous tournaments were forced to scatter when a tree fell during the second round of The Masters.

Golfers and patrons were left stunned when the tree fell at the back of the 15th green. Television coverage of the incident showed officials scrambling to survey the scene.

It’s unclear whether anyone was hurt.

Former Masters winner Sergio Garcia and his group including Japan’s Kazuki Higa and the United States’ Keith Mitchell were on the 15th green when the incident happened.

Augusta National suspended play for the second time on the day moments later as forecasts of wild weather started to roll in.

The United States’ Brooks Koepka was leading the tournament at 12-under when play was suspended.
