Players and fans have clashed after a fiery scuffle in the final quarter of Melbourne United’s win against Adelaide 36ers at John Cain Arena.
Adelaide star and former NBA player Montrezl Harrell and Melbourne’s Rob Loe engage in a push-and-shove after a foul call.
After Harrell pushed Loe, United guard Shea Ili got involved.
As players returned to the benches for a video review of the scuffle, fans sitting courtside appeared to speak with Harrell and other Adelaide players.
A fan wearing a grey hoodie engaged in a physical altercation with Adelaide’s Dejan Vasiljevic.
Umpires, security and Melbourne United staff quickly intervened and separated the players from the fans.
Harrell and Ili were both ejected from the stadium and one fan appeared to leave the building, shielding his face with his hoodie.
The NBL confirmed four fans were ejected from the stadium.
AFL star Brendan Fevola attended the game and posted footage of the heated altercation to social media.
Melbourne United went on to win the game 113-93.
Harrell has been a superstar in the NBL this season and is trying to play his way back to the NBA where he previously had an excellent career winning the sixth man of the year award and earning more than US$38m.
