Formula One’s silly season is showing no signs of slowing down as Mick Schumacher will reportedly cut ties with Ferrari at the end of the season.
Schumacher, who is on a Ferrari Driver Academy contract but drives for Haas thanks to Ferrari’s technical partnership with the US-owned team, must now look elsewhere across the gird for a 2023 seat.

Motorsport.com claims the German will not be retained by Haas beyond this year and the team has a new driver waiting in the wings to join Kevin Magnussen next season.
The report claims Antonio Giovinazzi is the favourite to take Schumacher’s seat in 2023.
Giovinazzi is one of Ferrari’s reserve drivers alongside Schumacher and was also announced by Haas he would have two FP1 appearances before the season is over.
With Schumacher’s time with Haas and Ferrari set to come to an end, the options are slim for a potential seat next season.

As it stands, there will be openings at Alpine and McLaren although Williams could have a seat up for grabs given Nicholas Latifi’s contract runs out at the end of the season and is unlikely to be renewed given his performances since joining.
However, Daniel Ricciardo’s impending vacancy at McLaren is set to be filled by fellow Aussie Oscar Piastri, so it’s extremely unlikely Schumacher could end up there.
Several reports also claim AlphaTauri driver Pierre Gasly will join Alpine next season, closing the door on another potential opportunity.
It could leave Williams as the only option, as Schumacher must now put his best foot forward from now until the end of the season should he want to stay on the grid in 2023.
