Dragons powerbrokers are reportedly eager to reintroduce former coach Nathan Brown into the club’s football or recruitment department.
Brown was appointed head coach of the St George Illawarra club in 2003, becoming the youngest non-playing coach ever at only 29-years of age.
The 49-year-old was eventually replaced by Wayne Bennett in 2009 and went on to hold coaching positions in the Super League and with the Knights and most recently, the Warriors.

FOX LEAGUE PODCAST – LACHIE MILLER ‘COULD’VE BEEN DIGGING HOLES’
Knights fullback Lachie Miller reveals the big risk he took when he rejected a Rugby 7s contract extension to chase his NRL dream.
According to The Daily Telegraph, influential members of the Dragons board are still close with Brown and there is reportedly a push to bring him back to the club.
As it stands, the Red V are one of the only clubs without a head of recruitment.
Meanwhile, Anthony Griffin’s future at the Dragons could be short-lived with club bosses informing the head coach he would have to reapply for his own job.
As it stands, Griffin looks unlikely to be head coach beyond 2023 and the board will reportedly meet next week to discuss their next move.

Jason Ryles, Ben Hornby, Dean Young and Shane Flanagan are reportedly on the Dragons’ list of potential coaches.
If the Red V appoint a rookie coach, Dragons powerbrokers reportedly want Brown in their club as a part of a football revamp.
Brown currently is the head of elite pathways at the Eels and reportedly could become head of football, the club’s list manager or an assistant coach if he returns.
Brown, who has 282 games of NRL coaching experience under his belt, reportedly does not want to return to a head coaching role.
He also played 172 games for both the St George Dragons and St George Illawarra from 1993 to 2000.
