Collingwood stars Nick and Josh Daicos have both signed six-year contract extensions until 2029 and 2030 respectively.
In a huge coup for the top-of-the-ladder Magpies a month out from finals, the club on Wednesday confirmed new deals for the brothers, with Nick originally contracted for two more seasons, while Josh was eligible for free agency next year.
It comes in a season Nick, 20, has enjoyed an astronomical rise to superstardom as the Brownlow Medal favourite, averaging 32.6 disposals per game. He’s played 44 games since joining the club with Pick 4 in the 2021 draft as a father-son selection.

Josh, 24, has similarly taken his game to enormous new heights in 2023 as one of the premier wingmen of the competition, averaging 25.9 touches per contest since being drafted with Pick 57 in the 2016 draft also via the father-son rule.
Sons of club great Peter Daicos, the duo have played leading roles this year for the premiership favourite Collingwood under Craig McRae in All-Australian calibre seasons.
It continues a key retention spree for the Magpies, with skipper Darcy Moore (signed until 2028) and Jordan De Goey (2027) both penning long-term extensions last year.

Collingwood footy Graham Wright was was thrilled to see the pair commit their futures to the club.
“Josh and Nick are both quality young men and talented footballers and we are looking forward to seeing them in the black-and-white stripes for years to come,” Wright said.
“Josh continues to impress and has really shown consistency in his form across the last couple of seasons. The work that he puts into his craft as a footballer combined with his determination to become better every day should be commended.
“Nick, in only his second season and with 44 games under his belt at the elite level, is continuing to grow as a footballer.
“Like his brother Josh, Nick’s professionalism, preparation and attention to detail is consistently elite and it is these habits which will hold them both in good stead for years to come.
“Both young men are great ambassadors for our club. They are incredibly positive and outgoing people and have an openness and appetite to continue to learn and develop as people and footballers and we look forward to continuing to support that development at Collingwood.
“I would like to also acknowledge the role of (president)( Jeff Browne, (CEO) Craig Kelly and the wider Collingwood Board for their continued endorsement of the AFL program.”
