Pat Cummins has confirmed Scott Boland will replace Josh Hazlewood in Australia’s XI for the second Test against India starting on Friday in Adelaide.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Cummins said Australia would retain the same top six from their 295-run defeat to India in Perth.
Hazlewood was ruled out of the upcoming day-night pink ball Test with a side strain and could miss the third match of the series in Brisbane.
Boland took 0-36 from 10 overs for the Prime Minister’s XI against India last week and hasn’t played a Test since last year’s Ashes series.
Cummins said Mitch Marsh will be fit to bowl in the match.
Australia XI: Nathan McSweeney, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Mitch Marsh, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Scott Boland.
