‘Couldn’t crack an egg’: Gallen slayer calls out Huni and says ‘red carpet treatment’ must end

‘Couldn’t crack an egg’: Gallen slayer calls out Huni and says ‘red carpet treatment’ must end

First, he upset Paul Gallen for the Australian heavyweight title.

Now hulking Melbourne southpaw Kris Terzievski is demanding a chance to end the “red carpet treatment” being gifted to breakout star Justis Huni.

Among Australia’s most exciting fight prospects, an undefeated Huni is set to throw down against New Zealand slugger Kiki Leutele in Brisbane on November 4.

Yet 32-year-old Terzievski insists he poses a far greater challenge, adamant the hyped Queenslander “has a problem with southpaws” and also those who match his famed speed.

“And I’m just as fast as Justis,” he told foxsports.com.au. “Only I have way better movement.”

Terzievski also revealed that after beating Gallen, the NSW Origin great reached out to say he had been left feeling worse than in any other fight of his career – including a Huni showdown one year earlier.

“Because I’m a wolf in sheep’s clothing,” the Melburnian said.

“The Gallen team, they hand-picked me.

“Thought they saw weakness.

“But after our fight, Gal actually messaged to say he had never before felt like he did after our fight.

“I’d reached out to say thanks for a tough scrap, and he congratulated me on the win and said ‘man, I’ve never felt what I felt after fighting you’.

“So I’m an unknown commodity for Huni.

“Ever since turning pro, he’s been given the red carpet treatment.

“But I’ve come up the hard way.”

Elsewhere, Terzievski also questioned Huni’s power.

“All the blokes I’ve spoken to that have sparred Justis, they say lightning fast but couldn’t crack an egg,” the heavyweight continues.

“And obviously I can’t take that as gospel.

“I have to get in there and test it for myself.

“But I know I can punch … and my knockout ratio is a lot higher than his.

“I’m that unknown commodity, too.

“Huni has never fought anybody like me. Never fought a southpaw as a pro.

“And in the amateurs, in the World Championships, he was beaten by a southpaw.

“So I actually think he has a problem with southpaws.

“I also think he has a problem with guys who boast the same speed and movement as him.

“I’ve heard as an amateur, when he came up against the big lugs of the heavyweight division, he had the speed and the movement to upset a lot of them.

“But when he came up against somebody with the same skill set and speed, he struggled.

“And you saw my fight with Gal.

“I’m a hit and move fighter. A calculated fighter.

“I pose so many different problems for Justis.

“I’m the man to beat him.”
