Collingwood part ways with CEO Mark Anderson

Collingwood chief executive Mark Anderson has quit the club after nearly five years at the helm of the powerful AFL club.

In the first major change of leadership under new president Jeff Browne, the Magpies will now join Essendon and North Melbourne in searching for a new CEO.

The change of CEO means that within a 12-month period Collingwood will now have a new president, coach, and a significantly changed board.

Anderson leaves on November 16, with head of football Graham Wright the acting CEO until a replacement is appointed.

Anderson joined Collingwood in March 2018 and led the club through the COVID-19 lockdown period.

Before Collingwood, he was CEO of Swimming Australia for five years and CEO of Hockey Australia before that.

He was previously chief commercial officer at Essendon and has been linked to the vacant CEO role at the Bombers.

Former Essendon CEO Xavier Campbell has also been touted as a possible replacement for Anderson at Collingwood.
