BREAKING: RCG, Tino among four players facing big bans as NRL releases charge sheet

Parramatta has suffered a double blow to its finals hopes while Gold Coast skipper Tino Fa’asuamaleaui and Dolphins forward Jarrod Wallace are also facing lengthy bans.

It comes after the NRL judiciary charges were released from Sunday’s three games, with six players charged over a number of offences.

Campbell-Gillard was sent to the sin bin for sliding with the knees into the back of the Gold Coast’s Chris Randall, although the Eels front rower was perhaps fortunate not to be sent off.

“That is bordering on a send-off,” Brian Fletcher said on Fox League’s halftime show.

“He’ll get a couple of weeks for that.”

It is more than a couple of weeks though, with Campbell-Gillard facing at least four games on the sideline with the early plea and five if he fights the charge and is unsuccessful.

Campbell-Gillard was charged with grade three dangerous contact and since it was his third and subsequent offence he is looking at a lengthy spell when factoring in previous indiscretions.

The same goes for teammate Maika Sivo, who is facing at three games with the early plea and four if found guilty for a grade two careless high tackle on Jojo Fifita.

Sivo was also sent to the bin for the hit and like Campbell-Gillard, it was also the Eels winger’s third and subsequent offence.

Meanwhile, Fa’asuamaleaui has been punished for a grade one shoulder charge on Campbell-Gillard off the restart in the second half.

The Titans forward is looking at three or four games depending on whether he takes the early plea, again with this being his third and subsequent offence.

Fa’asuamaleaui, however, was not charged for raising a forearm while carrying the ball up against Mitchell Moses, with the Eels halfback immediately complaining to the referee about his rival’s actions.

The Gold Coast prop was penalised against the run of play but will not face any further action.

As for Sunday’s earlier game, Wallace is facing a ban of either three or four games for a shoulder charge on Penrith’s Spencer Leniu.

Wallace was fortunate not to be sent to the sin bin for the hit, which was deemed by match officials to be clear contact from his shoulder to the head of Leniu.

The Dolphins forward was not as lucky after the match review committee reviewed the incident though, hit with a grade one shoulder charge.

It is also his third and subsequent offence.

Warriors centre Rocco Berry (grade one dangerous throw) and Dolphins forward Felise Kaufusi (careless high tackle) were also charged but are only facing fines with the early plea.

It was also Kaufusi’s third and subsequent offence but since it is a grade one charge he is just looking at a $3,000 fine with the early plea.

That increases to a two-game ban if he contests it and is found guilty by the panel.
