Australian Olympic hero Peter Bol has announced he has been cleared of doping charges and his provisional suspension has been lifted after the results of his B sample proved his innoncence.
On January 20, Bol made the shocking announcement his A sample from a urine test taken on October 11 tested positive for synthetic EPO, a revelation that left the star “in total shock.”

But Bol maintained his innocence throughout, asking “that everyone in Australia believe me and let the process play out”.
The 28-year-old also said he requested an analysis for his B sample, which took place this month.
In a note shared on social media, Bol shared the results that confirmed he had not taken any performance-enhancing substances and stated “the relief I am feeling is hard to describe.”
With his provisional suspension now lifted, Bol is able to train, compete, coach and receive funding from the sport.

Last month I told everyone that I was innocent and asked that everyone in Australia believe me and let the process play out. I was hopeful that the process would exonerate me. This morning, I am relieved to report that it did.
I was just informed that my B Sample did not confirm my A Sample. My provisional suspension has been lifted by Sport Integrity Australia. The relief I am feeling is hard to describe.
I appreciate the support I have received from my family, my team and from so many people from Australia and around the world. The last month has been nothing less than a nightmare. I wish the results of my A Sample had not been leaked, but there is nothing I can do about that.
To say it one more time: I am innocent and have not taken this substance as I was accused. I have NEVER in my life purchased, researched, possessed, administered, or used synthetic EPO or any other Prohibited Substance, and never will.
