Just as Ben Simmons started to show flashes of his old self, the Australian NBA star looks set for another stint on the sidelines.
The Brooklyn Nets confirmed in a statement on Wednesday morning (AEDT) that an MRI revealed a nerve impingement in the lower left side of Simmons’ back.
The three-time All-Star had already missed the last three games with a left hip contusion and will now receive treatment on both his hip and back.
Simmons will miss Brooklyn’s next three games against Orlando, Miami and Philadelphia at a minimum, with the Nets to provide an update on his status in a week.
