Blues’ top draft pick suffers ACL tear

Carlton are reeling after scans showed that the Blues’ first pick in the national draft, Jagga Smith, has torn his ACL and will miss the rest of the season.

The club confirmed the 18-year-old suffered the injury when he copped a knock in a tackle at the end of the third quarter.

The Blues had hoped he escaped serious injury after Saturday’s match simulation against St Kilda but have been left shocked at the extent of the injury.
