Carlton has omitted gun forward Zac Fisher and dropped sub Matthew Kennedy for Friday night’s blockbuster against the Brisbane Lions.
Fisher has become a mainstay of Carlton’s best 22 in the past two seasons, playing in the Blues’ past 35 straight games.
But Fisher has been omitted for Friday night’s match along with Kennedy, who started as Carlton’s sub in the big win over the West Coast Eagles.

Dual Brownlow Medallist Nat Fyfe looks set to make his AFL return as Fremantle’s sub against Hawthorn on Saturday night.
Coach Justin Longmuir this week said the Dockers were unsure where Fyfe would play this weekend, whether that’s with Peel Thunder in the WAFL, or as the sub – or a starting 22 member – against Hawthorn in the AFL.
But Fyfe was named as an emergency for the clash against Hawthorn, the club then confirming he’ll start as the 23rd man.
The Dockers have included duo Michael Frederick and Josh Treacy to bolster the forward line, while Sam Sturt has been dropped along with Will Brodie, who’s been dumped for a second time this season.
Hawthorn has opted to manage star duo Luke Breust and Changkuoth Jiath, with ruck Lloyd Meek and midfielder Connor Macdonald regaining their spots in the side.
Richmond has been boosted by the return of premiership duo Dion Prestia, Jack Graham and Hugo Ralph Smith for Saturday’s clash against the West Coast Eagles. Graham will play his first game since Round 4, while Prestia returns after a one-game absence.
Tigers coach Damien Hardwick dropped Tyler Sonsie and Noah Cumberland, while Trent Cotchin has been managed and Tylar Young will miss through injury.

Geelong regains premiership star Zach Tuohy and ruck Jon Ceglar but loses Jack Bowes, Gary Rohan and Sam De Koning through injury for its clash against Adelaide, which has named star Rory Laird despite doubts over his fitness.
Essendon has named Alwyn Davey Junior on the field for its clash against Port Adelaide, with Dyson Heppell, Zach Reid and Jye Menzie named on the extended bench. The Power regain two pillars in skipper Tom Jonas and key forward Todd Marshall.
Sydney’s Dylan Stephens – who’s played the past 19 consecutive games for the Swans – has been omitted for Sunday’s clash against Collingwood, with ruckman Lachlan McAndrew named on the extended bench.
Collingwood could be boosted by the return of big man Mason Cox, who’s in line to play his frist game since Round 2. Cox has been named on an extended interchange bench, while Scott Pendlebury has been named on the field.
