Inglis the poster child for cricket’s crazy calendar
By Daniel Brettig and Jon Pierik
Josh Inglis has become the embodiment of cricket’s crazy calendar, with his status as a first choice white ball player but also a fringe member of the Test squad handing him the toughest travel commission of any Australian player this summer.
Stand-in skipper Inglis’ demanding itinerary and multi-format duties make him highly unlikely to be considered for next week’s first Test against India, despite his inclusion in the 13-man squad for Perth, with his best chance to arrive later in the series.
A little bit of background
It’s still eight days away from the start of Australia’s Test series against India. So, for an entrée, enjoy this three-match series against the touring Pakistan line-up, starting with game one in Brisbane. Games two and three will be held at the SCG (Saturday night) and Bellerive Oval in Hobart (Monday night) respectively.
