Tom Decent from a fairly sweaty Gabba
The fall of King Kohli
After Indian superstar Virat Kohli fell for just three runs after being caught by Alex Carey off Josh Hazlewood’s bowling, it put his second-innings century in Perth into context.
Tom Decent explores just how the great batsman’s form is panning ou and it makes for tough reading here.
A reminder of the flying bison in all of his glory from yesterday
Marnus the Meteorologist
Marnus Labuschagne is hopeful that some early blue skies in Brisbane will give us a good run of play today on day four. All fingers are crossed.
Welcome to day four
Welcome back weather watchers and cricket fans, it’s Jonathan Drennan. I will also be leaning on my experts and colleagues Tom Decent and Dan Brettig who are at the Gabba.
After the stop-start nature of day three, we are all praying for the rain gods to give us a break to string some consistent overs together on day four.
If we are to believe the weather forecasters, there will be far more dryer spells, but there is still a chance of the odd rain delay.
Even with the many stoppages yesterday, there were some highlights to enjoy. Mitch Marsh became the flying bison with an absolute screamer of a catch and Alex Carey posted a fine 70 runs.
Mitchell Starch also claimed two wickets with India on the ropes at stumps on 4-51. KL Rahul looks by far their best batsmen in a shaky lineup on 33 runs after 64 balls.
The Australian quicks will be extremely fresh, given the spinners were used at the end of the day with fading light and the amount of stoppages yesterday, so there could be some very early wickets.
