Lunch day two: India 3-151 with Rohit on 85, Kohli on 12

Australia’s first hour was ordinary but the introduction of Murphy and some very tight bowling from Boland helped the visitors get back into the contest, by taking two wickets.

Rohit Sharma remains the difference between these sides and Kohli looks dangerous too. The Australians need to break this partnership to have any chance of staying in the match.

Murphy, Boland standing up for Aussies

The junior half of Australia’s attack has out-bowled the senior half today.

This has been an impressive start to Todd Murphy’s Test career. He has looked a lot more threatening than the man they call the GOAT, Nathan Lyon.

His control has been first-class, giving India’s batters nothing to hit.

This is the Sheffield Shield mode Scott Boland rather than the Test version on sporting tracks.

Boland made a career out of bowling on similar surfaces for Victoria at the MCG before the venue overhauled its pitches.

With fielders in front of square on the leg side to save the single, he’s bowled straight and made the batter play.

It’s put pressure on India’s batters, something they did not feel enough of yesterday and at the start of the session.

India are 2-135
