ESPN reported last month that Liverpool and Feyenoord agreed a compensation deal for Slot, who had two years left to run on his contract with the Eredivisie side.
He replaces Klopp, who left the club at the end of the season after a storied 8½ years in charge that saw Liverpool lift the Champions League and end their 30-year wait for the Premier League title.
Klopp’s final game was a 2-0 home win over Wolves as Liverpool finished third in the league.
Slot has been Feyenoord coach since the start of 2021-22, reaching the Europa Conference League final in his first season where they were narrowly beaten by José Mourinho’s Roma.
He then won the Eredivisie with the Rotterdam-based club in 2022-23 before lifting the Dutch Cup this season amid a second-place league finish.
