Carlton coach Michael Voss has refused to put a ceiling on what the club can achieve in his second year at the helm.
The Blues fell agonisingly short of finals in Voss’ first year in charge, with four losses to end the season costing them a first finals appearance since 2013.
Updating club members ahead of players beginning to return for pre-season training, Voss was bullish on the side’s potential for 2023.

“We are not limiting ourselves. We control what we can achieve in 2023,” he said.
“Why put a limit or a label on what the end result might be?”
“There is a clean slate, a clear mindset and a real belief that if we put in the work now, we will earn the right to achieve success.”
Despite missing out on finals, there was a sense of achievement in Voss’ first season in charge.
Key among the successes was the Blues’ scintillating 8-2 start to the season, led by eventual Brownlow medallist Patrick Cripps.
While injuries and form saw the club wane in the final rounds of the season, Voss said the experience was a necessary one.
“We got so much right as a football club, we just didn’t finish the way we wanted,” he said.
“That ending hurt and we don’t shy away from that: it’s part of the story of what we are building.”
“The 2022 season provided us with a strong platform to build on. Now, we go to another level.”
