Australian Football Hall of Fame Legend Ron Barassi has passed away at age 87.
Barassi was a six-time premiership player for Melbourne and a four-time premiership coach.
He played 204 senior games for Melbourne and 50 senior games for Carlton.

“After a full and extraordinary life, Ronald Dale Barassi, aged 87, left us today due to complications from a fall,” his family wrote in a statement.
“He died peacefully, surrounded by loving family.
“We ask for privacy at this time.”
Barassi was named a Member of the Order of Australia in 1978 and was named in the AFL’s Team of the Century as a rover.
He was an original Legend in the Australian Football Hall of Fame in 1966.
Barassi became a captain-coach of Carlton after leading Melbourne to the 1964 premiership in one of the biggest player moves in the game’s history.
After playing 50 games for Carlton, Barassi coached the side to premierships in 1968 and 1970.
As coach of North Melbourne, Barassi led the side to a premiership in 1975 and once again in 1977.
