Two of the AFL’s best players have suffered serious injury blows with Gold Coast gun Touk Miller and GWS superstar defender Sam Taylor to be sidelined for lengthy periods.
Miller, the Suns’ co-captain and reigning best and fairest winner, played through an initial knee issue during Sunday’s win over North Melbourne before a second incident saw him twist his left knee while going for the ball.
Spotted on the bench wearing a knee brace, he told Fox Footy after the game he didn’t expect the worst – an ACL – but still appears likely to miss at least a month of footy.

“It’ll be something around my knee and my meniscus … it’ll be a small recovery and we’ll be back out and running soon,” Miller said.
“Nothing’s cleared but I doubt it’s an ACL, from what I’ve heard when other boys have done it, it’d be a lot worse than that (what I felt).”
Meanwhile the Giants will be without both Sam Taylor and Adam Kennedy for an extended period in a pair of blows for Adam Kingsley’s side.
Taylor, the reigning All-Australian centre half back, suffered a grade three hamstring strain in GWS’ loss to Brisbame and will be out for around 10 weeks. The Giants’ mid-season bye in Round 15 is his likely target.
Meanwhile Kennedy ruptured his ACL and will miss the rest of the year.
The 30-year-old has battled numerous injuries throughout his career including knee and shoulder reconstructions.
