AFL locks in Grand Final entertainment with iconic rock band

American rock band KISS has been confirmed as the headline act for the AFL’s 2023 grand final entertainment line-up.

The international act have released 44 albums and sold more than 100 million albums and are currently touring as part of their global ‘End of the World’ tour.

“We cannot wait to create rock ‘n’ roll history playing at the iconic MCG in Melbourne for one last time,” KISS said.

KISS is comprised of Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer.

The band is America’s top Gold Record Award winning group of all time and have been touring for over 40 years.

Their most notable performances include spots at the Super Bowl and the Winter Olympics.

Following the AFL grand final, KISS will perform a farewell show at Sydney’s Accor Stadium un October, with the band to host their final-ever performance at Madison Square Garden in New York on December 2 this year.

KISS follow the likes of Robbie Williams and The Killers as headline acts for the AFL grand final.

Popular Aussie-Kiwi rock band Crowded House were in line for the event before pulling out, with former Collingwood president Eddie McGuire reporting the decision centred on a dispute about the stage placement.
