Interestingly, it was the Swans who ended Carlton’s charge in that finals series – but only two players remain in Sydney’s line up from that win.
It’s been more than six years since these two sides have faced off at the MCG – in their only meeting at the venue since the qualifying final of 1986.
In fact, the last time Sydney beat Carlton at the MCG was way back in 1918 in ominous signs for the Swans’ hopes on Friday night.
