Kylian Mbappe has reportedly made a call on his future, with the French striker set to join Real Madrid after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in June.
The news was first reported by Le Parisien and later confirmed by ESPN, who reported that Mbappe is expected to announce the move next week.
Sources told ESPN that Mbappe is yet to inform PSG or Real Madrid of the decision.
Crucially, a contract is yet to be signed by both parties so there is still always the potential of Mbappe repeating the backflip he made in 2022 that later saw him sign a new deal with PSG.

The Athletic reported in early January that the finances on offer from Madrid were “lower than those of 2022”, with sources telling the publication Mbappe had been tabled a €130million signing bonus and a salary of €26m per year in 2022.
Mbappe’s wages at Madrid, according to ESPN, are said to be “half of what he currently earns at PSG”.
Le Parisien, which first reported the news of Mbappe’s impending move, wrote that “optimism reigns in Madrid” and that “negotiations are being carried out for the biggest locker room contract” for Mbappe.
“Mbappe has decided to leave Ligue 1 at the end of the season and join the biggest club in the world [Real Madrid], which has always been waiting for him,” the report added.
There had been multiple reports that Madrid had imposed a mid-January deadline on Mbappe to decide whether he would take up its offer.
Mbappe has scored 241 goals in 288 appearances in all competitions since making the move to PSG from Monaco on what was initially a loan deal.
The switch to Madrid will bolster Mbappe’s hopes of Champions League glory while ESPN also reported that the Frenchman “feels it is the right time in his career to move to the Spanish capital”.
