Saints part ways with recruiting manager as off-field reshuffle continues

St Kilda has parted ways with national recruiting manager Chris Toce as part of an off-field restructure.

AFL Media revealed on Thursday the Saints had made the role of national recruiting manager – held by Chris Toce for the last two years – redundant.

Toce has been with the Saints for nine years in total and prior to his tenure there had been a member of Collingwood’s recruiting division.

“Recently we have been reviewing the structure of our recruitment and list management team,” Saints football boss David Misson said in a statement to AFL Media.

“Following this review, the decision has been made to introduce a new role, talent identification and player movement manager, which will report into our head of talent and acquisition, Graeme Allan.

“As part of this restructure, we have made the difficult decision to make the role of our current national recruiting manager, Chris Toce, redundant.

“Chris has been a valued employee at the Saints for many years, identifying talent across the country to improve our list and lay a foundation for the future.

“His knowledge of the game and ability to identify not only talent, but potential, is a credit to his hard work and we wish Chris and his family all the best for this next chapter.”

The latest move continues the change under coach Ross Lyon, which saw Stephen Silvagni join as list manager at the start of the year.

Graeme Allan was named the club’s head of talent and acquisition.

The Saints made five selections at the national draft last month.
