New South Wales batter Ollie Davies has suffered a hairline fracture in the little finger of his left hand on day two of the Sheffield Shield match against Tasmania at the SCG.
The 23-year-old, who represented Australia at the Under-19 World Cup in 2020, sustained the injury while fielding during Tasmania’s first innings in Sydney, but Cricket NSW is hopeful he will be available to bat in the second innings if required. He will be assessed further after the match.
It is currently unclear whether Davies will be available for the Sydney Thunder’s first game of the upcoming Big Bash League tournament; the men in lime green will face the Brisbane Heat at the Gabba on Tuesday, December 12.
