Elsewhere, the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills are no longer undefeated, and their first losses of the season didn’t come without drama.

BRADY BESTED BY RODGERS, PACKERS
It was a far cry from what we’re used to seeing from Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers.
Brady, 45, and Rodgers, 38, leant on their defences on Monday in a low-scoring affair that saw the Packers hold on for a 14-12 win.
Held in check through nearly four quarters against Green Bay, before throwing his first touchdown of the game with less than 20 seconds on the clock, Brady had the chance to tie the game with a two-point conversion.
Instead, the veteran quarterback and coach Todd Bowles inexplicably allowed a delay of game penalty, pushing them back, before Brady’s pass was broken up by the Packers defence.
Without Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, Brady found it difficult to move the ball until the final drive of the game, finishing with 271 yards and one touchdown.
Rodgers threw for 255 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.
Elsewhere in the later games, the reigning Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams relied on rushing touchdowns from Cam Akers and Cooper Kupp to propel them to a 20-12 divisional victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Glendale.
In Los Angeles, however, the Chargers were thrashed by Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars, slumping to a 38-10 home defeat at SoFi Stadium. Lawrence finished with three touchdowns and 262 yards passing.
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Falcons took care of business in Seattle.
TROUBLE IN PARADISE
The Kansas City Chiefs are no longer undefeated; Patrick Mahomes and co. losing what felt like a game they should have put to bed multiple times before falling apart.
Despite looking unstoppable to start the season, Kansas City just couldn’t get out of their own way on Monday, dropping to a shock 20-17 defeat at the hands of Matt Ryan and the Indianapolis Colts.
Mahomes cut a frustrated figure for much of the game, including at the end of the first half when offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy chose to run out the clock, rather than allow his quarterback to work his magic.
The two exchanged words as the game went to break, with head coach Andy Reid eventually cooling things down.
Reid attempted to downplay the interaction post-game, telling reporters: “If you heard the words … that was not a confrontation at all.”
Mahomes finished with 262 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
Ryan threw two touchdowns and 222 yards — including a clutch game-winning pass to Jelani Woods with 24 seconds remaining — to seal victory for the Colts.
“Our defence and special teams kept us in it the entire day and we just kept fighting and battling and had the belief that we were going to win,” said Ryan.
“That’s huge for us today. Hopefully we can build on that. But I’m proud of the guys — there was no quit in the fight,” the 37-year-old veteran added.
BILLS BLOW IT
Tua Tagovailoa shrugged off a first half scare and the Miami Dolphins’ defence shut down Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills to grind out a 21-19 victory in a hard-fought NFL divisional battle.
A groggy Tagovailoa looked to be in bad shape after hitting his head on the turf and leaving field for treatment at the end of the first half at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
However the Miami quarterback returned after half-time to help the Dolphins move to 3-0 at the top of the AFC East as the Bills suffered their first loss of the season.
Tagovailoa’s condition, and Miami’s decision to put him back into the game is now under investigatoin, however.
Bills quarterback Allen finished with 400 passing yards and two touchdowns but was found lacking on Buffalo’s final two drives as they chased a potentially game-winning touchdown.
Miami had taken a 21-17 lead after Chase Edmonds crashed over from close range near the end of the fourth quarter.
Allen took Buffalo upfield on the next possession, but missed a wide open Isaiah McKenzie in the end zone on fourth down as a gilt-edged chance went begging.
Buffalo’s defence forced Miami to concede a bizarre safety on a muffed punt to close the gap to 21-19, leaving Buffalo one last chance to snatch victory as the seconds ticked down.
However their attempts to get the ball into field goal range fell short when McKenzie gathered an Allen pass but was unable to reach out of bounds to stop the clock.
The Bills failed to spike the ball to halt play and time expired.
Offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey then went viral as his coaching box reaction to the game’s finish was shown; with the play-caller losing his mind.
Elsewhere, Lamar Jackson ran riot against New England, throwing for four touchdowns and rushing for another in a 37-26 win over the Patriots.
It was at the death of that game that Mac Jones suffered what appeared to be a serious leg injury.
In Washington, Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles stayed perfect, while Joe Burrow’s Bengals finally got off the mark in 2022 with a win over the New York Jets.
