Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc are at risk of disqualification from the United States Grand Prix after failing post-race technical compliance checks.
Both Hamilton’s Mercedes and Leclerc’s Ferrari were found to have suffered excessive wear to their floor planks, which sit underneath the aerodynamic floor to regulate ride height.
Hamilton finished second and pole-getter Leclerc finished sixth.
FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer, who runs all post-race inspections, reported to the stewards that the plank skid blocks had been worn more than is allowed according to the rules.
The penalty for a technical breach is disqualification.
Both teams have been summoned to stewards hearings from 10:00am (AEDT).
