New NRL premiership rings revealed ... and what it costs to get one

The 2023 NRL and NRLW premiership rings have been revealed with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese behind this year’s design.

According to WWOS, Albanese was asked to design the ring and set himself three rules; wanting it to be wearable every day, have no political messaging, and avoiding the red and green of his beloved South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Sydney jeweller Affinity Diamonds unveiled the design on Wednesday morning, featuring a white gold bang with a carat of diamond and 14 natural sapphires.

On top, the ring says 2023 premiers, while each ring is also adorned with the player’s number on one side, with a kangaroo and emu on the other.

Affinity Diamonds founder Sam Rahme was asked what each ring is worth, and delivered a hilarious response.

“Forty tackles a game, ten hit ups, about a thousand push ups a week and two thousand sit ups,” he said.

“You can’t buy them, but if the NRL wanted to pay $10,000 for one, they can have one.”

Rahme’s company began making the premiership rings in 2015, with an array of people having a hand in designing them through the years including Johnathan Thurston, legendary commenator Ray Warren and former NSW Police commissioner Mick Fuller.
