Three of Fox Footy’s biggest stars have been recognised at this year’s Australian Football Media Association (AFMA) awards, which were held in Southbank on Tuesday night.
Four-time premiership Hawk and triple Coleman Medallist Jason Dunstall was presented with the Lou Richards Medal — awarded to the best former or current league footballer now working in the media.
The long-time host of Bounce, as well as a Fox Footy gameday host and expert analyst, Dunstall took out the award that recognises entrants’ personality, use of language and humour, as well as care for and knowledge of the game.

Dunstall in his acceptance speech paid tribute to the game for giving him so many opportunities, firstly as player then as a media performer.
Fellow Fox Footy expert David King was also honoured, claiming the Best Opinion Analysis (Radio/TV) award.
A dual premiership Kangaroo and dual All-Australian, King was recognised for his work across gameday broadcasts, as well as shows AFL 360 and First Crack.
Star play-by-play commentator Anthony Hudson was again named Best TV Match Caller.
All entrants were judged on colour and flair, accuracy, use of the language and an innate ability to marry the words with the pictures, with Hudson beating out a competitive field.
Fellow Fox Footy commentator Dwayne Russell received special commendation in the Best TV Match Caller category.
Hudson also took out the Best Radio Match Caller gong for his work with 3AW across the season, while his Nothin’ Like The ‘90s program was named Best Podcast.
AFL 360 co-host Gerard Whateley’s show Whateley was named Best Radio Program, while Fox Footy boundary rider Lauren Wood won the Best AFLW Program/Feature category for her work across the Herald Sun.
The preliminary finals get underway from 6.50pm (AEST) on Friday on Fox Footy — available on Foxtel and Kayo Sports — when Collingwood hosts the Giants, followed by the Brisbane-Carlton clash on Saturday.
