Want some pre-game listening?
This week on the Real Footy podcast, Michael Gleeson, Caroline Wilson and Jake Niall look back at the first week of finals, from the deafening crowds on Thursday and Friday night to the kids and unsung players who starred on the big stage.
The panel also looks ahead to the semi-finals. Are Melbourne’s issues fixable? Will Brodie Grundy come back to face the Blues? In a game featuring two bruising midfields, will the Blues be able to run out the game?
And how important will Harry McKay’s absence be tonight?
Welcome, footy fans
Hello and welcome to our AFL live blog as Melbourne and Carlton face off at the MCG for a place in the preliminary finals next weekend.
Will Melbourne go out in straight sets for the second year in a row or Carlton’s run be over in their first finals appearance in a decade?
While the Demons are favourites to progress, the Blues have won 10 of their last 11 games and have the momentum, while Melbourne have hit a few road bumps of late. Pointedly caused in large part by some holes in their forward line.
But this is finals – and anything could happen. Follow along for all the live action and leave a comment at any time!
Game time is 7.50pm AEST.
Who are you tipping, tonight?
