There’s no tomorrow for one of St Kilda or GWS when they face off in a cutthroat Elimination Final on Saturday at the MCG.
Despite being widely written off late in the season, the Saints surged into finals with four wins from their last six games to finish sixth on the ladder.
The Giants comparatively won their way into September action in their first season under Adam Kingsley, rising from 15th of the ladder at the midway point of the season to finish seventh courtesy of their final round win over Carlton.

The Saints will host their first final in Melbourne since 2011 after previously playing finals in 2020 in the Covid season and will suit up for their first MCG final since the 2010 Grand Final replay.
The Giants, meanwhile, will return to the MCG for their first final since the 2019 decider.

The Saints confirmed a massive late change on Saturday morning with key forward Tim Membrey withdrawing due to what the club confirmed to be a “personal health matter”.
“Membrey is currently receiving appropriate care and treatment due to a personal health matter” The club said in a statement.
“Tim’s health and wellbeing is our primary concern and the Club asks that Tim and Membrey family’s privacy is respected at this time.”
Anthony Caminiti will replace Membrey in the starting 22, with the AFL approving the change under the exceptional circumstances clause after Caminiti wasn’t named in the initial squad of 26.
This match gets underway at 3:20pm AEST from the MCG.
