Hollywood star Steve Carell steals the show at the Dutch Grand Prix

Formula One fans have labelled Sky Sport’s interview with Steve Carell the “highlight of the Dutch Grand Prix.”

That’s after the Hollywood star was left stunned by a close-up camera before the race, The Sun reports.

Max Verstappen stormed to a record ninth successive victory in front of a jubilant home crowd on Sunday.

The Red Bull ace is closing in on yet another F1 title.

But it was household name Carell who made a surprise appearance ahead of the race to give his views on the state of the sport that stole the show.

The comedian could not resist taking a lighthearted approach to proceedings.

And he left fans in hysterics with a quip about how close Sky Sports’ camera had zoomed into his face.

That’s before delivering a rib-tickling analysis of Formula One before claiming the upcoming Las Vegas GP will “have a different vibe.”

Carell is known for spots in flicks like Anchorman, as well as the starring role in the US Office.

But some supporters stated his F1 appearance was as good as any of those – while also proving to be the most exciting thing about the Dutch GP.

One said: “The highlight of this race is Steve Carrell in the paddock!”

Another declared: “He’s just a naturally funny person.”

One noted: “Showing the ‘stars’ how it’s done on the grid.”

Another added: “The most entertaining thing that will happen today.”

The Formula 1 grid interviews have become must watch television as Sky Sports’ Martin Brundle storms his way around the circuit.

There has been plenty of controversy throughout the 2023 F1 season with Brundle being brutally snubbed by Cara Delevingne.

He then copped an earful from a Red Bull team member during the Monaco Grand Prix as he tried chatting to team principal Christian Horner.

It’s not all carnage however as Brundle was showered in praise by Hollywood power couple Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

The grid walk will always be can’t miss television with Carell adding his name into the good books with F1 fans.
