St Kilda star Bradley Hill is off to hospital for precautionary chest scans after a brutal bump from North Melbourne defender Aidan Corr early in the first quarter.
Corr’s bump came a split second after Hill tapped the ball on while running after it on the wing.
The 30-year-old Saint, who is averaging 21 disposals this season, went straight to the bench, and St Kilda’s medical team made the call to sub him out of the contest midway through the opening term.
Match review officer Michael Christian’s primary concern with bumps this year has been about protecting the head, which does not appear to be an issue in this case, but Corr faces a nervous wait to discover the verdict.
Jack Billings replaced Hill and will receive almost a full game to try to cement his spot in the side after making his first senior appearance last week.
The Saints led the Kangaroos at quarter-time as they try to correct their mid-season slump.
