Souths lock up gun centre on huge new deal; promising Storm forward extends: Transfer Centre

South Sydney have announced they’ve extended Campbell Graham for three more years in what is a huge boost for the club.

Graham’s extension means he’ll remain at Redfern until at least the end of 2027 and locks in a core group of players for Souths for the next four years that also include Latrell Mitchell (2027) and Jack Wighton (2027).

Origin stars Cam Murray, Damien Cook and Cody Walker are signed to the Rabbitohs through to the end of 2025.

Round 21

The 24-year-old Graham is in the midst of a career season for the Rabbitohs, including selection in the Blues squad for Game I.

“I’m very excited to know that my future for the next four years is going to be here at Souths,” Graham said via a club statement.

“This Club really is my home and I’ve always felt that way. I love this Club, I love everybody involved with this Club, I feel so at home here, so it wasn’t a hard decision for me to stay here and work towards winning some premierships here over the next few years.

“I’m very grateful to the Club for putting their faith in me and wanting to have me here at the Club. I’m looking to pay them back with my performances for the rest of this season and the next few years as well.”

As per the statement, Rabbitohs Head of Football, Mark Ellison, says the Graham signing was a “priority” for the club.

“Campbell has proven himself to be one of the leading centres in the game,” Ellison said.

“He has risen through the grades at South Sydney to play first grade at just 18 years of age.

“He has represented his Country and was unlucky not to represent his State this year, but we know he will get the opportunity to represent New South Wales in the years to come because of the quality of player and teammate that he is.

“He is a South Sydney man through-and-through and we want to achieve our Club’s goals with him and his family playing a key role in that success.

“We all love working with ‘Stretch’ and we look forward to continuing that work with him over the seasons to come.”

STORM EXTEND FORWARD FOR THREE MORE YEARS

Melbourne backrower Eli Katoa has also signed a three-year extension, which will keep him at Storm through to the end of 2027.

Since making his debut in 2020, Katoa has played in 59 games for the Storm, proving a consistent cog in their forward pack.

Katoa is currently on the sidelines with a right eye injury, and is close to a return.

“I’ve got a good crew around me, the boys have been good and the coaching staff as well so yeah, life is good,” Katoa said.

“We’ve been really pleased with the way Eli has transitioned into the club and made an immediate impact,” Storm General Manager of Football Frank Ponissi said.

“We know what he is capable of and we’re looking forward to seeing him hopefully go to new heights with us in the future.

“For now, we are solely focused on his rehabilitation and ensuring we are taking the time required, especially with such a delicate injury.”
