Bulldogs fan favourite Josh Reynolds announced his retirement from professional rugby league in an emotional press conference on Monday as his teammates watched on.
The 33-year-old will play his final game this Saturday at Belmore Sports Ground in the club’s New South Wales Cup clash with the North Sydney Bears.

Reynolds, who did not play Cup or NRL last weekend, broke the news to his teammates on Monday morning.
It comes after it was revealed he gave up his spot in the Top 30 to allow the Bulldogs to sign new recruit Toby Sexton.

The club plans to honour Reynolds on Sunday in what is expected to be a sellout as the Dogs host the Broncos at their spiritual home.
Reynolds played 167 NRL games — 145 of those with the Bulldogs — and four Origin games for NSW. He played five-eighth in the Dogs’ 2012 and 2014 grand final appearances.
