The NRL have hit Josh Curran with a breach notice that recommends the Warriors star is banned for two games and fined $10,000 over his bar fight with a teenager last year.
Curran avoided a conviction in court last Monday after pleading guilty to assaulting a 16-year-old in a nightclub on the night of the 2022 NRL grand final.
The assault happened in Port Macquarie – a coastal town 400km north of Sydney – at around 3am during a night out with family and friends.

FOX LEAGUE PODCAST – MICHAEL MORGAN
Cowboys legend Michael Morgan opens up on the injury that forced him into early retirement — and the doubts he had over the decision. He also relives his iconic flick pass in the 2015 NRL Grand Final and filling Johnathan Thurston’s shoes in 2017.
Curran pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm, but had charges of reckless grievous bodily harm and larceny withdrawn and dismissed in Port Macquarie Local Court.
The 24-year-old’s defence lawyer Paul McGirr praised Curran’s character and the fact his client has “never been in trouble before”.
The incident reportedly occurred when Curran and the teen were exchanging social media details and the NRL player noticed the youngster had been filming him without his consent during the night.
‘My client told the young person he didn’t trust him and then there was a melee where one strike occurred which has caused blood to the mouth,’ McGirr said.
Magistrate Greg Grogin reportedly told Curran the incident should serve as a “wake-up call”.
“The eyes of the world are on you and wherever you go people are going to have mobile phones and will be filming you,” he said.
Curran missed the Warriors clash against the Rabbitohs last Friday night, which the NRL said would count towards his suspension.
“Additionally, Curran is directed to engage in and complete such education and training as advised by the NRL,” the NRL’s statement read.

Curran has five business days to respond to the breach notice.
