NSW Blues prop Payne Haas in doubt for State of Origin III

NSW’s hopes of avoiding a series whitewash could be dented with the team’s premier front rower Payne Haas in doubt with a hamstring injury.

Blues coach Brad Fittler is today set to finalise his team for the third game of the series at Accor Stadium on July 13, but NSW could be without the Broncos prop when the side is announced on Monday.

Haas picked up what appears to be a minor hamstring twinge, casting a shadow over his position in the side. The NSW coaching staff are awaiting feedback from Broncos medical staff in regards to Haas’ condition.

The Blues are already without plenty of star power with Nathan Cleary, Latrell Mitchell and Tom Trbojevic all on the sidelines.

Fittler will decide on the makeup of his team this afternoon with Spencer Leniu and Campbell Graham among the players being considered to make their State of Origin debut later this month.
