Gold Coast Suns midfielder Jed Anderson granted indefinite leave from club

Gold Coast Suns midfielder Jed Anderson has been granted indefinite personal leave from the club.

According to The Courier Mail, Anderson didn’t return to the Gold Coast with the rest of the team after the club’s trip to his native Northern Territory in late May.

It comes just six months after the 29-year old was signed to the Suns’ rookie list ahead of the 2023 campaign via the pre-season supplemental selection period.

He’s yet to play a game for Stuart Dew’s side and has no timeline on a return to the club.

Anderson was delisted by North Melbourne at the end of last season after averaging a career-best 22 disposals per contest and he finished third in the club’s best and fairest in 2020.

His career was up in the air at the start of 2022 after initially being hesitant to comply with the league’s strict Covid-19 vaccine mandate, later revealing he had an adverse reaction to his first jab.

Anderson played 89 of his 99 AFL games for the Kangaroos after a previous stint at Hawthorn.
