Brisbane Lions tagger Jarrod Berry has been cleared to play against Geelong in their preliminary final.
Berry took his case to the tribunal after he was found to have made unreasonable or unnecessary contact to the eye region of Melbourne star Clayton Oliver in Friday night’s semi-final at the MCG.
In pleading their case, the Brisbane Lions relied on the testimony of a neurosurgeon, and character evidence from Luke Hodge.
Berry is now free to take his spot in the Lions’ team to face Geelong at the MCG on Friday night.

Berry played an important role in the Lions’ come-from-behind 14.8 (92) to 11.13 (79) upset of the Demons, which set up the preliminary final date with the Cats.
The pair tangled in the middle of the MCG last Friday night after Berry tackled Oliver to the ground.
In evidence before the tribunal, all parties agreed there had been contact to the eye region, but Berry’s advocate, Adrian Anderson, argued that it was fleeting.
