Geelong has reportedly offered Fremantle ruckman Sean Darcy $1 million per season over five years in a bid to land the 24-year-old.
Darcy is a restricted free agent at the end of 2024 and the Cats have shown interest in the former Geelong Falcons product.
The West Australian reports that, while the reigning premiers have offered Darcy a lucrative deal, the Dockers could be on the verge of re-signing him on a long-term contract in order to thwart rival bidders.

The report adds Darcy is currently believed to be on a salary between $650,000 and $700,000.
Fremantle will likely have more money in its salary cap now after re-signing veterans Nat Fyfe and Michael Walters on more modest deals.
Fyfe himself admitted his new contract will see him paid substantially less than his previous, with The West Australian reporting his previous wage of $1.1 million has now dropped to roughly $400,000.
Geelong’s two key ruck options – Rhys Stanley and Jonathon Ceglar – are out of contract at the end of the season and in their 30s.
The Cats are also reportedly interested in Carlton’s Tom De Koning, who is out of contract at the end of the year.
De Koning’s brother, Sam, is a premiership defender for the Cats.
Darcy’s future became of interest externally after the trade acquisition of fellow key position player Luke Jackson at the end of last season.
The West Australian reports Jackson is on an estimated $900,000 salary.
