Payne Haas has sent an injury scare through the Blues camp after rolling his ankle.
The powerhouse prop was spotted laying on his back with his ankle elevated in the grandstand on a cold and windy morning at Coogee Oval.
NSW hierarchy played down the scare and expected Haas to train when the Blues return to camp on Sunday afternoon.
Haas rolled his ankle before a Christmas at a Broncos training session.
“He trod on the boot of someone as he was running backwards, and he’s gone over in his ankle, ″ Blues adviser Greg Alexander said.
“It’s a slight sprain. He’ll ice and elevate it and be right to train on Sunday.”
Alexander said there had been no thought to sending an SOS to any other front-rowers.
Haas is widely regarded as the best prop in rugby league.
