LIVE AFL: Sliding Swans look to rebound against Clarko-less Roos

North Melbourne will look to put a week of controversy behind them and take on Sydney without coach Alastair Clarkson who has stepped away from the game.

The Kangaroos (2-7, 62.9%) will have interim coach Brett Ratten at the helm when draftee George Wardlaw debuts as one of six changes to the side.

In a shock stat, Ratten becomes the club’s fourth coach in just 16 games.

Round 10

The Swans (3-7, 97.7%) are in a free fall as their injury woes continue to hamper their 2023 season.

Logan McDonald, Callum Mills and Tom Hickey all go out of the side with injury, joining the likes of the McCartin brothers on the sidelines.

Ratten has shrugged off his 72-hour preparation as interim coach, as North players and staff have backed in Clarkson to return when mentally ready.

“This could be the motivating factor – we do it for Al, and make sure we put a smile on his face,” Ratten said.

This match gets underway at 1.45pm AEST from Marvel Stadium.

Watch it live on Fox Footy (channel 504) from 1pm AEST.
